'Cock up' or Conspiracy?

I have always been suspicious of suggestions of conspiracy. I have often been accused of seeing the world through rose tinted glasses.

My personal experience has always led me to believe that ‘cock up’ rather than ‘conspiracy’ is usually the correct answer.

But somehow I feel worried about the story of the Russian ex spy Alexander Litvinenko who died last Friday.

Do I need to remove my rose tinted glasses?

The shadow world of clandestine operations is not only found in fiction and it does exist in reality, mostly unseen or unheard by most of us, most of the time. It knows no boundaries of legality or morality or social convention. It is the penultimate of the notion that the ends justify the means. There is a certain dispensation granted to its operatives.

Conspiracy in this domain is more than just a theory. It is modus operandi. It is most likely that this death was exactly as the dying party described it.

The lesson here is:
Always believe your patients.

Doctors generally do. Sometimes to a fault.

Thanks Dr Grumble - I run a workshop called 'Trust Me I'm a Patient' - it is great to hear you confirm that!
