Apologies!

Apologies for lack of Blog Posts this week – I’ve been busy!!

As a self employed person, being busy means I can afford to eat in March after all.

On Tuesday I was speaking at a big healthcare conference in Swindon and today (Thursday) I had the joy of speaking at another healthcare conference near Belfast. A joy because this was the first time I had visited Northern Ireland.

Trying to fit in some telephone coaching for a client and generally keeping on top of an increasing workload meant that something had to give this week. Sadly it was Simplicity Blog.

It feels like I have withdrawal pains when I miss out on reading the rich comments I receive from Simplicity readers so I will try to get back on course this coming week with more regular postings.

Three pictures from the Northern Ireland conference are included in this posting.

Annie and I travelled over to Belfast on the 6.50 am flight from Birmingham International Airport to Belfast International and we were back in our house by 6.30 pm.

One of the greatest joys of being self employed and working from home is that Annie and I get to go places together in my work. Being with someone I love when I am working makes me feel great, boosts my confidence and makes work an absolute pleasure. Thank you darling Annie for your support and your love x

Trevor,
Please tell us about the conference. Do they have a web page? I can't imagine anything more thrilling than traveling to another country and speaking your message. People in healthcare need to hear it.
Coaching is another wondeful aspect of your career. I have been doing a bit of that myself, helping people with their public speaking. Rewarding beyond measure.
Cheers, Marilyn

Thanks for that Marilyn

I was talking at the Southern Health and Social Services Board in Northern Ireland and this is the website for the organisation.

I notice they don’t have a page dedicated to the conference.

It was a conference about improving Primary Care services. My talk was about how we need to involve patients and the public more in the planning, delivery and evaluating of services. Greater patient involvement is a passion of mine. It was indeed wonderful to go to Northern Ireland. We met some lovely people and enjoyed a great lunch.

Coaching is another fabulous thing to do and I am fortunate to have had some coach training. Working on a 1-2-1 basis with someone and being of some assistance is both rewarding and humbling at the same time. I learn as much in the process as the client - of that I am sure.

Marilyn, I was at the conference and thought Trevor did very well, for a Manchester United supporter!
I asked about the conference stuff being put on the web - it will, but be patient, this is Ireland. Posting will be on the SHSSB Primary Care Intranet however, so I dont know if auslanders can view it.
If not I think you should ask Michele Bekmez, "Effective Healthcare Facilitator" michelbe@shssb.n-i.nhs.uk

Hey Tom - thank you for that feedback. I hope you enjoyed the talk! I can never let a presentation pass without mentioning my beloved Manchester United!

Today Manchester United beat Liverpool 1-0 to go 12 points ahead at the top of the Premiership so I am pretty happy.

I hope Marilyn gets the conference stuff from Michelle.
