Leadership is simple

Random Saturday evening thought....

Why do some people want to try and turn leadership into some objective, academic, rational science that can be taught in the classroom of a business school by people who have never been leaders?

Leadership is simple - do people want to follow you or not? Nothing more nothing less

Please discuss...... feel free to disagree ..

If leadership is simple, why do many people find it so hard?

...because leadership means enabling, not controlling, and that's scary.

I’m with you entirely Lois
I worked for many years with a Nurse Manager who told me; “The best way to gain power is to let go of power”

I’ve never forgotten her words and the older I get the more I realise they are so profoundly accurate.

I totally agree. So many people say leadership is difficult, but if you are born a leader, it is simple. Just lead by example and the rest naturally follows. There is no need to read a book or take a class. Some are born leaders and those who are not have a very difficult time trying to lead. It is simple.
