Five Great Questions to Cameron and Clegg

Following on from my previous post I think the words of Tony Benn – see below - are more important than ever right now. We have an unelected government in this country that is implementing policies for which it has no mandate from the public.

It illustrates vividly to me how far removed from democracy and integrity the current bunch of power-crazed image-conscious politicians have become.

My political hero is 85 years young former Labour Cabinet Minister, Tony Benn who tells us that when he was an active elected member of parliament he had 100,000 employers – i.e. ALL his constituents. Tony also produced these 5 questions that he says we should ask anyone who has power.

I love the Simplicity of this!

  • What power have you got?
  • Where did you get it from?
  • In whose interests do you exercise it?
  • To whom are you accountable?
  • How can we get rid of you?

Memo to Cameron and Clegg: how do you answer Tony’s questions?

Dear Trevor,

Having gone through your postings and also the 5 ?s of Tonny Benn I was pondering and contemplating over the issue and what ever has occured to my mind you will find below and its for Cameron & Clegg to understand these with his bunch of 20 Billionaires and compile their answers to the 5 ?s........keeping in mind as if they are in the Tip of the Iceberg. And 'am sure that Cameron & Clegg will not care and dare to answer these 5?s......................

Be in the World But let not the World be in you.

Pain is a gap between two moments of happiness.Happiness is an interval between two moments of pain.

All men in power must realise the fact that he has more obligations than privileges, more duties than rights towards his people/society.
One need have two things......pure love And self-less service.

Sorrow and pain are caused desire. The cure is to use the same desire, and turn it to Good, to desire God.

Science is below the mind Spirituality is beyond the mind.
Humanitarian is the expression of unshakable love,Love that is noble, pure, free from desire or egoism.

God is Truth,Truth is Goodness,Goodness is Beauty,
Truth, Goodness, Beauty,is oneself. Why not it be yourself.(each and every member of ruling fraternity)

Services of men in power to his people/society leads to the discovery of God in men."
The mind of a person in power not engaged in true services to his people/society is a Devil's Workshop.

Truth has no fear; Untruth shivers at every shadow.

Wise words indeed JK - Sadly I suspect most politicians won't even understand your words ....

Dear Trevor,
If these politicians can't understand these words of concept for which they hold powers in them........How can they understand their people.....their prime asset for their powers???????? I simply wonder.

All that I can do is pray God to prevail good sense upon these guys....what else.

God is their only hope JK - and He of course will NEVER give up on them - maybe I need to follow His example with these politicians I am criticising!! As Nicky Gumbel, founder of the Christian Alpha course says "I'm still working of forgiveness" :-)
